Joint Rehabilitation Qigong

Joint Rehabilitation Qigong will introduce easy and natural methods to reduce and help prevent issues related to joint inflammation. Dr. Yang will discuss basic theory and information on joint structures, causes of injuries or degeneration, and how certain treatments can be effective.

Inflammation is a process in which your body releases chemicals into your blood or tissues in the area of injury or infection. Autoimmune diseases cause the immune system to trigger an inflammatory response when there isn’t anything to fight off. A lack of exercise, a poor diet, and stress can also lead to inflammation. Symptoms can include: redness, joint swelling, joint pain, joint stiffness, and loss of joint function.

Prolonged and chronic inflammation results in the body’s qi and blood circulation becoming stagnant. This can lead to common issues such as arthritis (including gout) and frozen points (e.g. shoulders & hips).

In this webinar, learn basic diet tips, stretches, massage (and acupressure), movements, and joint breathing (meditation) to:

  • Relieve and reduce common joint issues

  • Strengthen joint structures (cartilage, ligaments, tendons, muscles)

  • Prevent joints from becoming frozen or stiff

This 3-hour webinar will cover major joints including:

  • Shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers

  • Hips, knees, ankles, toes

  • Spine and neck will be covered briefly as a review to the “Spine and Back Qigong” webinar (October 2020)
